What's the Total? - Ready, Set, Go Maths Games
The aim of this resource is to encourage students to find mathematical links in the world around them and open up mathematical discussions in the class while also use the maths language that they know, extend on their current maths vocabulary.
Ask the children if they can use the numbers listed to make a mystery total. Numbers may only be used more than once. There are multiple answers to suit a range of abilities. My students love this resource because they can all find an answer.
There are 35 different challenges and 1 blank challenge that can be used to create your own challenge.
I believe it also encourages the students to listen to each other as we often found that there is always one student who thinks way outside the box and comes up with an answer that none of us thought of ... including me!
