Mash.ie follows a standard procedure of using log files. These files log visitors when they visit websites. All hosting companies do this and a part of hosting services' analytics. The information collected by log files include internet protocol (IP) addresses, browser type, Internet Service Provider (ISP), date and time stamp, referring/exit pages, and possibly the number of clicks. These are not linked to any information that is personally identifiable. The purpose of the information is for analyzing trends, administering the site, tracking users' movement on the website, and gathering demographic information.
Cookies and Web Beacons
Like any other website, Mash.ie uses 'cookies'. These cookies are used to store information including visitors' preferences, and the pages on the website that the visitor accessed or visited. The information is used to optimize the users' experience by customizing our web page content based on visitors' browser type and/or other information.
Accounts and Data
In order to purchase or sell items on Mash.ie, an account must be registered. All accounts are kept online for a maximum of one year from the date of a user's last log in. After one year on inactivity, the account is removed from Mash.ie. A reminder is sent out to the registered email address twice before the account is deleted. All data is deleted from the account and cannot be retrieved.
Mash.ie runs a mailing list. All account holders on Mash.ie will automatically be registered to receive correspondence from Mash.ie through this mailing list. Mash.ie uses the service SendinBlue for this purpose. All registered users of Mash.ie are automatically added to the mailing list but individuals are welcome to opt out of the newsletter. They can also opt in at any time. The mailing list is used for regular newsletters, news about the site, information about updates, and for marketing automation.

We use Google's servers for two specific reasons. The first is to allow users to log in using their Google credentials using OAuth 2.0. The second way we use data is for Google Analytics where visitors to the site are monitored so we can bring a better service to all Mash users based on the data received in Google analytics. We only use Google user data in the ways described above.
Another part of our priority is adding protection for children while using the internet. We encourage parents and guardians to observe, participate in, and/or monitor and guide their online activity.
Mash.ie does not knowingly collect any Personal Identifiable Information from children under the age of 13. If you think that your child provided this kind of information on our website, we strongly encourage you to contact us immediately and we will do our best efforts to promptly remove such information from our records.
