Reading Comprehension Prompts: Synthesising
A set of 8 sentence starters for children who are developing their reading comprehension skills. The sentence starters help provide structure for children to express their ideas orally and in their writing.
This set focus on the higher order thinking skill of synthesising. It is one of final skills we teach children at primary level and is really about trying to get them to put all the pieces of the jigsaw together when thinking about their reading.
Useful for Book Talk session or Oral Language work.
Displayed on pastel coloured speech bubbles.
Clear font will make it easier for pupils to transfer the sentences to their own writing.
