Planet Fact Files 3D Template
Have fun this Space Week researching the planets using these 3D templates. This would make a lovely collaborative project with different children researching the different planets, Earth's moon and the sun*.
Simply print, write your information or draw/paste pictures, cut out the circles carefully, fold them in half and glue together. Add some string and hang up - ta da!. With 3 or more circles, create a 3D effect - perfect for differentiation (complete at least 3 circles but more can be added depending on the amount of information researched).
There are 4 sizes included in this PDF. This is how I used them (just an example - they could be all the same size if you like):.
- Large: Jupiter
- Medium: Uranus, Neptune, Saturn (I added a strip of paper around this planet to represent the rings)
- Small: Earth, Venus
- Extra Small: Mars, Mercury, Moon (Earth's)
Also included are labels - colour, cut and fold these in half. Glue together over the string to hang them - meaning the name of the planet can be seen from all angles.
*For the sun I simply used big yellow card - cut out 2 circles, slit half way up both circles and slid them together and wrote information directly onto the card with some additional colouring for effect.
