My castle is - describing words to be written inside this ancient, crumbling, stony castle - and there are three example words already! Other possibilities to prompt for are, depending on age and ability of writers: dark, huge, tall, towering, old, ruined, derelict, abandoned, echoing, grey, hard, damp, gloomy, spooky, creepy, unwelcoming, grand, golden, magical, fascinating, elegant, royal, mysterious, spidery... and numerous others. But mind the spider... and other creatures!
Able writers can add a simile below each line, e.g. dark/as a tunnel, tall/as a cliff.
Tip - encourage adventurous, imaginative ideas, rather than words that are easy to spell. Sounding out and having a go at the word, or even just the first letter or two will build writing confidence and enthusiasm, spurring them on to try more writing and reading in future. Afterwards, celebrate effort and exciting visions by letting every child read out one of their words in a full phrase - 'My castle is ___'.
