Irish Vocabulary Booklet
A 65 page booklet aimed at enhancing and developing the vocabulary and grammar of Irish learners. The booklet is divided into two sections. Cuid A focuses on vocabulary and general phrases and Cuid B consists of grammar terminology and verbs.
The booklet covers all of the topics that both junior and senior cycle students need to know. There are over 3,000 words and phrases in cuid A and over 900 in cuid B.
Students can use this booklet as a way to enhance their writing. For example, if a student is writing about their Laethanta Saoire they can go to that section of the booklet and utilise that vocabulary in the piece of writing. It also gives them the confidence they need to complete the task as they know that all the words in that section are related to the topic of Laethanta Saoire.
It's also very useful to print out each section and examine the students each week.
This booklet has helped my own students immensely and I am confident it will do the same for yours!

Students use this booklet as an exercise workbook where they can practice their spelling and enhance their vocabulary retention. Each topic has a designated section in the booklet with space at the back to add new words and phrases students come across. There are 4 columns in each section, the first is the word itself in Irish and the other three columns are left blank and the students fill them in themselves. The second column is where the students write the English translation in and the other two columns are for rewriting the Irish word.
Students can use the 'Look, Say, Cover, Write, Check' method to help them with these exercises.
