Jenga Ceisteanna Bundle
This set of 50 questions for each of the themes Scoil, Bia, Caitheamh Aimsire, Sa Bhaile & Mé Féin. They are designed to be used as part of a game of Jenga to promote Gaeilge Labhartha (see Instagram Post). They are written in a variety of tenses using a wide range of eiseamláirí teanga.
How to use:
- Label each Jenga block with a number 1-50. I purchased a type of Jenga that already had numbers written on them but you could also use a permanent marker to do this.
- In groups of 3/4, the children can take turns playing Jenga as they would usually except this adds a twist. The idea is to promote the use of Gaeilge while playing. Each block will have a corresponding number which has a question that will need to be answered prior to allowing the next person to have a turn e.g., the child picks block 13, they will have to answer question 13 on this sheet
I have used this successfully with 5th & 6th class children and they thoroughly enjoyed the game. An extension activity could be that they come up with some extra questions or substitute questions.
