Drama for St Brigid's Day
This pack contains two drama lessons for St Brigid's Day, each about 40 minutes long. It is based around the story of Brigid requesting land from the king for her monastery, but the children are encouraged to make their own endings. Why do the women want land? How can they convince the king to let them have land? These are all question the children will answer in their own groups.
In addition there are Hints for the women's groups and another document of hints for the king's group.
There is a slight tilting of the story towards history. The pack contains contains a bonus pack of people and roles who existed during pre-Christian and early Christian Ireland.
This pack may be circulated to the students if appropriate. For that reason I omitted the information that entertainers during the Brehon Law era included professional farters!
That should make it more appropriate for distribution among your students!

What class is this resource suitable for ?
Jan 27, 2022, 10:442nd to 6th really. Easily adapted. The history could be emphasised more with the older ones. Remember there is a bonus pack on the Brehon Laws included - suitable for the older ones in particular.
