On a Budget! Gaming Room Pack - Ready, Set, Go Maths Games
The aim of this resource is to encourage students to find mathematical links in the world around them and open up mathematical discussions in the class while also using the maths language that they know, to extend on their current maths vocabulary.
Ask the children if they can complete the task given white staying within the budget. Students can use each item as many times as they want, as long as they stay within the budget and brief. My students love this resource because they can all find an answer.
There are 4 different challenges. The some of this resource is aimed at older grades or higher achieving students.
This resource is available to download as a PDF. Worksheets to accompany each challenge are also included in this resource. Within the worksheet pack, there are also some extension exercises which can be used across the curriculum. These worksheets include writing tasks, art tasks and (of course) extra maths tasks!
I believe it also encourages the students to listen to each other as we often found that there is always one student who thinks way outside the box and comes up with an answer that none of us thought of ... including me!
