A series of flashcards of commonly used words, sorted by their initial sound (fuaim). An easy way to begin Fonaic na Gaeilge in the Junior Classes.
239 of the first words/phrases/verbs/colours children learn as Gaeilge.
Contains a set of words for each of the initial sounds/letters A, B, C, D, F, G, H, L, M, N, P, R, S and T.
Print each of these sets on a different colour card.
Suitable for all levels but geared towards the junior end of the school.
I display these in little 'envelopes' and take out the flashcards as needed for games/activities.
Some ideas for use:
-Use as a word wall in your classroom!
-Use as word banks for each letter.
-One child is "on" flashcards and they call out the words for the other children to shout back the béarla.
-The teacher can use these as a sentence builder game.
- Use the words to play Feicim le mo shúilín...
-Play sort the words- Call out words and ask the children to sort them into ainmfhocal, aidiacht, briathar srl.
