I have divided the grid into 5 sections - focusing on 5 difference types of Engineers however it can be used anyway that suits you and your classroom - a pick'n'mix of resources. It is not intended for all this work to be completed during Engineers Week - there are plenty of ways to celebrate the world of engineering in your classroom!
The categories of activities are:
- Engineering - Video links introducing each engineer type
- Introduction - short activities (10-15 minutes)
- Engineers - links to information about some engineers who are making a difference in the world
- Challenges - 10 challenges to choose from four your classroom
- Ireland Heritage Sites - discover the engineering behind some of Ireland’s heritage sites
- Additional resources - links to other fun activities including games, a quiz, videos, shows, colouring pages and more
- Explorify - a fantastic website to encourage discussion and creative thinking (Log in required but this is free).
