Read Oliver's story titled - 'why I should have stayed in bed'. It is written in three paragraphs - each one dealing with a different aspect of the day. The child can then use the plan and prompts to write their own story with the same title. Write in first person from the writer's point of view. In the first paragraph, introduce the characters and setting. In each paragraph include a new problem, building on events that went before and creating suspense. End the story, like Oliver, on a cliff hanger
