These sample long term plans will save you countless hours as the content is already pre-populated, so instead of typing everything from scratch, you can simple edit it to suit. Suggested content for each month is provided for teachers who are new to a class level or for those who would like some new ideas, but you can easily change this to suit your own circumstances if you desire. Hyperlinks to useful resources such as poems and books are provided in many of the plans.
The sample plans are based solely on the Irish Primary School Curriculum and not on publishers’ schemes (The SPHE plan includes the Walk Tall, Stay Safe and RSE programmes for 5th class in the suggested content section.). If you are following a particular scheme/ textbook and wish to include the content from it in the plan, most publishers have a document with a monthly breakdown of their content as part of their online resources that you can include instead of the table suggesting when to cover material that is provided.
The sample plans use the terminology from the 2021 Guidance on Preparation for Teaching and Learning for all Primary and Special schools, and include the sections specified in the guidance. A document is included in your download which gives some detail about the new guidance and using these plans.

No, the cost of a product cannot be split amongst 2 teachers at the same class level. All downloads from teachingplans.ie constitute copyrighted material that and each purchase gives an individual licence for one teacher to use the resources. Where multiple teachers in a school are at the same class level and would like to use the same resource, an individual purchase is necessary for each teacher.

Can you post me printed copies of my order?
No, all products are available as digital downloads only as they are designed to be edited by you to suit your individual class and students.
Can you create bespoke plans to suit our school/ my booklist/ the schemes I am using?
The short answer is no, and there are a number of reasons for this. The time it would take to create customised plans for every booklist and scheme out there would make it impossible, and the cost to reflect this would be too restrictive. There could also be issues with copyright if using publishers’ content.
Furthermore, our intention is to provide editable sample planning documents that you can easily and quickly customise for your individual class and whatever scheme you are using for different subjects. Much of the plans will remain the same regardless of whatever scheme you are using, and editing it to suit takes a fraction of the time that it would take to type everything from scratch. Editing the plans to suit is an important step for teachers to take in order to ensure they are familiar with the plans’ content as well as their suitability for their individual students.
We do provide a suggested pace of delivery of content in the plans for teachers who are new to a class level or who don’t rely on publisher’s schemes, and this section can be edited to suit as needed. Also many publishers now have an outline of their scheme’s content as part of their digital resources, so if you wish, you can delete the suggested content provided and include the publisher’s outline with your planning documents instead.

Aoife QuigleyJul 13, 2020, 10:49I highly recommend these plans. I bought them for 4th class last year and they were absolutely excellent! The quality was fantastic, easy to edit and make your own! I had been teaching 6th for seven years and was moved to fourth as I was expecting my first baby. The English and Gaeilge are in line with the new PLC 2019. I have been moved to fifth this year unexpectedly and the first thing I did was check if you had plans available for 5th! Thank you
