This excellent listening and responding lesson plan is perfect for use to incorporate a Space theme or as an independent stand alone lesson. PowerPoint, worksheet and a list of links included to put any teacher at ease teaching this lesson. This lesson focuses on a piece of classical music but also offers the opportunity to compare the piece to a more modern film soundtrack. The lesson makes use of musical terminology, points out key features to the children and also challengers them to really engage with the piece of music and at the same time learn about instruments in the orchestra. This lesson was extremely successful in the classroom eliciting a very positive response from the class. Was taught to 6th class but could easily be adapted for classes from 3rd - 6th.
