Jailbreak Probability and Chance Activity- Maths Week
Great Activity for Maths Week or any time of year based on probability and chance. This includes a Powerpoint and a worksheet.
12 prisoners are in jail, the children have to throw 2 dice 20 times. Each time they add the sum of the two dice and give that prisoner a tally mark. The prisoner with the most marks is the one that escapes.
The children predict who they think will escape, which prisoners are unlikely to escape, which prisoner has no chance etc.
Great opportunity for class discussion on probability, expected outcomes and logical thinking.
