Reading Comprehension Prompts: Inferring
A set of 8 sentence starters for children who are developing their reading comprehension skills. The sentence starters help provide structure for children to express their ideas orally and in their writing.
This set focus on the higher order thinking skill of inferring. It is one of the more challenging skills and is all about getting children to figure out 'what's between the lines?' What is the author 'showing us', not 'telling us.'
Useful for Book Talk session or Oral Language work.
Displayed on pastel coloured speech bubbles.
Clear font will make it easier for pupils to transfer the sentences to their own writing.
