Description
I started creating these PDF’s during remote learning. I have found upon returning to school that I am still using these interactive posters with my class.
I will use this PDF poster to teach and revise the sound of the week. We will listen to the Jolly Phonics song first and sing along to learn the sound, we will see how many words we can come up with orally with the sound. I will then click on the ‘sound of the week poster’ to see some more words with that sound in them. Then using the active inspire, I will ask the children to tell me words they know with the sound, I will teacher model sounding out words and blending words with the whole class. We will play spin the wheel and sound out , blend and read the words we land on.
During our Literacy Lift Off, the children will independently use their Sounds Booklet to write their sound of the week and the words displayed on active inspire from the previous day. As an extension for the more abled pupils they can write sentences with the words. The next day for my independent station in LLO the children will use the roll and read activity sheet whereby they will roll their dice, blend and say the word they land on, if they get it right they can colour it in.
The Sound Booklet and the Roll and activity sheets can be found on mash store.
In addition, this template can be attached to your Class Dojo Account, Seesaw Account and used as practice for homework to reinforce the sound of the week at home too.
Cosmic Yoga is also linked to the mat in the PDF, if you click on this it will bring you to the website for some brain break activities.
