Included with the plan is a list of the words being used from the Newell Literacy Programme 1, the words from the Jolly Phonics Word Book – Groups 1, 2 and 3, a sample of the dictation for the first week from the Newell Literacy Programme 1 and the dictation writing sheet.

Station 1: Teacher works with children clapping syllables, spelling words with concrete materials, putting words into sentences.

Station 2: Oral language – teacher shows the children a picture and follows up with higher and lower order questions.

Station 3: Rhymes and rhyming – all oral work – also working with words from Station 1

Station 4: Dictation – also working with words from Station 1
