I have just finished Time with first class during the shutdown and found PowerPoint to be a really effective way of approaching the teaching of Maths to my very visual class. I am able to record over the PowerPoint with any additional teacher notes to help with the digestion of the content. I have done time over 2 weeks and the timetable for the second week of work is also here as a PowerPoint at a different link!
I would not set myself in stone as a great lover of Maths, however coming to terms with online teaching has made me like maths again even more. There are such a number of resources and visual aids to help teach maths online and I have used the basic resources of Gafa le Mata, Mata Draíochta as well as the teaching manuals and curriculum to ensure these PowerPoints meet the needs of the curriculum and the needs of the children in my class.
