Description
This is a truly fun way to learn about the chemical reactions taking place in our world. Your students will be amazed at how simple everyday ingredients can cause chemical reactions.
There are 5 easy to follow chemistry experiments. One of the awesome things about these scientific experiments is that they are all done in a mason jar or two. No messy surfaces or counter tops, no endless amounts of clearing up and the best thing is, is that the ingredients needed are easily accessible either at home or school.
The preview lists the five scientific experiments with the materials required – That way there will be no surprises when you open the file and realise that you are unable to obtain a certain ingredient.
These scientific experiments have been constructed for you to do alongside a lesson which is geared towards the reaction taking place.
Chemistry in a Jar Experiments
- Lava in a Jar – Materials available in Preview
- Fireworks Underwater – ** Materials available in Preview **
- It’s just red Cabbage! – ** Materials available in Preview **
- A Penny and Science – ** Materials available in Preview **
- Crystals are Fun – ** Materials available in Preview **
Each experiment comes with a little knowledge of the science taking place along with some observational questions. The questions are to help you get started, they are a good way to prompt a group or class discussion. Making predictions before the experiments would give it a nice little add on. Please see the Preview file.
** Some of these experiments involve a microwave and a stove, for that reason I have listed this resource at grade 4 and above. All experiments should be under supervision. Younger students can partake and observe with stricter supervision. **
