Junior Infant-New Language Curriculum English Long Term Plan
This is an extremely detailed English school plan for Junior and Senior Infants which fully incorporates the New Language Curriculum. This plan is over 80 pages in length and has taken a LONG time to compile. I have trialled and tested this plan in the previous academic school year and I feel it is very effective at incorporating the very broad English curriculum successfully. The plan is easy to follow and clearly outlines a monthly scheme of work which incorporates: phonological awareness, spelling, punctuation, writing, letter formation, writing genres, reading, reading strategies and oral language topics (oral debates, storytelling etc). The thematic monthly nature of the plan allows for easy integration across all other curricular areas as they are directly linked to each monthly Aistear topic e.g. September-Myself, December-Christmas etc. Finally, this plan would also be invaluable for anyone starting out in Junior Infants who may have concerns about how to progress through the year and has hesitations about when various reading and writing milestones should be introduced or reached.
As always if you found the plan useful, I would be extremely grateful if you could leave a review comment!
