A fun and engaging art lesson which involves looking and responding, drawing and painting for the senior classes. This lesson is based on the idea of unusual or alternative designs for furniture. Included is a detailed and easy to follow lesson plan, a PowerPoint presentation with dozens of images of interesting and unusual rooms and furniture, and a worksheet for the looking and responding activity. The lesson plan has sections covering objectives, resources, a step by step guide to the lesson, assessment, differentiation, and integration. My sixth class boys loved this lesson and I’m sure your class will too!

A projector or interactive whiteboard is useful, but not absolutely essential for this lesson. The photographs from the PowerPoint presentation would need to be printed in colour for the looking and responding part of the lesson.
