I use this sheet for homework. Kids learn one verb, by rote memory, every two weeks. They can clap it out, or say it with a jingle. "Abair, to say. Dúirt, deir, déarfaidh, ag rá." I use it independent of teaching regular or irregular verbs throughout the year. We go over them very quickly each day, one verb at a time and it builds as they learn another verb every fortnight. It becomes so memorised, that when they come to needing to translate them and use them, they have them memorised. I've had kids in secondary school tell me they're so glad they have this memorised since primary!
