This lesson gives children (in particular kinaesthetic learners) the opportunity to explore the properties of various 3D shapes by actually constructing them. With the sweets representing the vertices in each shape and the cocktails sticks representing the shapes edges, it is so easy and accessible for a child to discover and explore the number of these properties in each shape by simply counting the sweets and cocktails sticks once they have been created. This is a thoroughly active and engaging way of exploring 3D shapes and their properties with the children.
