Fortnightly Planning: 

Highly comprehensive and detailed fortnightly planning for 5th Class Term 1, Term 2 and Term 3: September to June with clear learning objectives and activities. The plans are 16-19 pages long each so are very detailed and organised. The plans contain aims, strands and strand units and provide clear methodologies, lists of resources, assessment, differentiation and cross curricular integration with other subjects. English and Gaeilge have clear learning outcomes and strands taken from the most recent Primary Language Curriculum with an easily adapted planning template for the PLC. 

The plans are fully editable Microsoft Word documents and can be easily adapted to follow a particular scheme you are using in class. The fortnightly planning documents are also designed as a Cuntas Miosuil as activities can be easily ticked off as completed making your lesson planning easier.

Long Term Planning: 11 Long Term Plans

Long term comprehensive planning for 5th Class. The following subjects are included: English, Irish, Maths, Geography, History, Science, P.E, Art, Drama, SPHE and Music. The planning has clearly listed aims, strands and strand units linked to the curriculum books listed below as well as cross curricular activities taking into account special occasions throughout the year. The planning has cross curricular integration, assessment, resources, content and learning activities and methodologies. 

English and Irish planning is aligned with the new Primary Language Curriculum. The planning has all strands, elements and learner outcomes for both Irish and English. 

The planning follows NIPT planning guidelines and has all the recent aims and objectives as well as all strands, elements and learner outcomes for the Primary Language Curriculum. 

English PLC long term plan (17 pages ) 

Irish PLC long term plan (21 pages) Please note: Gaeilge planning only includes all strands, elements and learner outcomes for 5th Class for the Primary Language Curriculum. The teachers manual for Bua na Cainte 5 has the yearly scheme by topic which is easily ticked off as completed. Simply copy and paste the PLC learner outcomes as needed into short term planning. Navigating the PLC online is very tricky! This document will make it much easier!

Science (9 pages): Scheme based on Science Quest 6, Earthlink 6 and Let's Discover 5. However the plan is suitable for both 5th and 6th Class.
