POETRY - "TERROR" - POEM, PLAN, WORKSHEET AND AUDIO - About Dyslexia
@GEpoetryandprints we share original poems with very detailed teaching plans, worksheets and audio for the children to listen to. All plans include the new Primary Language Curriculum - strands, elements and learning outcomes. This poem "Terror" by Geraldine Galligan is about Dyslexia. It is a great poem to open up a class discussion and the plan gives lots of discussion ideas, with pre-reading oral work, questions for the main body of the work and also lots of information about dyslexia. A worksheet is also attached with this activity, where the children get to create their own poem. We have also included the audio for the poem, so the children can listen to the poet read her own poem.

The lesson plan and accompanying worksheet is perfectly pitched for senior classes and the suggested discussion points promoted empathy and higher order thinking amongst the students. Would highly recommend 👏
