Author's Intent and Author's Purpose is the basis of this product!
This particular resource can be use with ANY book in your class library. The reason I have planned it this way is to encourage a CHILD LED decision in the book THEY want to engage with. This way, children are having a choice in book (increasing engagement) and also learn the key skills here, which in this case is: identifying the author's intent or purpose.
What is included:
- A DETAILED PowerPoint to structure your lessons day-to-day. It contains key information and vocabulary to set your children up for success when identifying an author's intent/purpose.
- A differentiated activity (color and black and white) that allows your children to identify an author's intent/purpose in a range of texts from your class library.
- A cute strategy to help them to remember the different author's intentions: PIE. Persuade, Inform, Entertain.
