This pack contains 24 rhymes and poems, suitable for Junior and Senior Infants. They are a mix of rhymes and poems that can be used whilst teaching many themes such as the seasons, Christmas, Easter, St.Patrick's Day, animals, birds, insects, food, school, weather and some funny rhymes too to give the children a giggle :) ! They are fun and easy to learn.
I used these rhymes by choosing one rhyme/poem a week which we learned in school and which the children also had for homework each week. I chose a rhyme or poem that complimented the Aistear theme or theme of work being covered that week/month in class.
Rhymes and poems are a fantastic way to promote early literacy skills and encourage phonological awareness, recognition of rhyming words, and reading fluency.
