Christmas Orienteering Activity
- Suitable for PE Orienteering lesson or an active Christmas themed Geography lesson
- Teaches basic grid references in a fun way - ideal as an introduction to mapping or aerial photographs developing the children's geographical skills for map work
- Children record information by drawing Christmas objects in the respective grid reference. They will orientate the pictures to make sure they are creating their map correctly.

Christmas Orienteering Activity
This pack includes the Christmas activity page, the pupil's blank grid map page that they will complete and a set of instructions of how to prepare, set up and undertake the activity. It takes around 10 minutes to prepare this set.
Ideally you would have the use of the hall or outdoor area and 15 cones. If you chose to complete it in the classroom you could use paper cups to save space.
If you wish to use the game year after year it is beneficial to laminate the completed This is Christmas grid page and the 15 individual pictures.
