William Dargan: Building Ireland

In time for Engineering week, William Dargan was the builder of Ireland's railways. Probably our first entrepreneur, he also built canals and towns - specifically the town of Bray. He continued to provide employment during the Famine, while making sure his workers were fed first. Now his name is recalled in a wing of the Natural History museum, the Luas bridge near Dundrum, the Carlow ring-road and Carlow railway station. It could almost be said that he was Ireland's Industrial Revolution.
This product consists of one page of text and comprehension questions,  categorised under the Building Bridges headings. Available in both colour and black and white, the product also includes digital formats of both Seesaw and Google slides.
