These illustrated, atmospheric writing sheets will inspire children to write creatively and expressively about birds, how they fly, and the sky they travel through. There's a simple version, with straight lines, and a medium and harder version, each with wavy writing lines, reflecting the waving movements of the birds.
Warm-up tips: act out being birds first, gliding, darting, soaring and swooping, flapping and fluttering, tipping and tilting, drawing words like these from your children as you go. Discuss the sky too. Is it fine or stormy, calm or windy, and if blue, what sort of blue? Encourage simile ideas and exotic, exciting vocabulary.
Tried and tested with exciting results. Recommended for independent (or just about) writers, aged approx. 6-8.
