4-Page Spelling Worksheet/Booklet - Irish Exempt

Not rated yet
This booklet/4-page worksheet was created for those pupils that I work with who are exempt from doing Irish/Gaeilge. Due to the level of Irish exemptions in one particular room in our school it is impossible for them all to be withdrawn daily during their Irish lesson.
The pupil or teacher selects 12 of their spellings to focus on for the week. The pupils put each spelling in a sentence. They illustrate six of the words and write the other six out three times. The next stage involves the pupils putting two of the words in one sentence. Proceeding to page three, the pupil writes a three sentence paragraph about an event that happened in the past week. They then get to create a wordsearch or crossword using the spellings of the week. The back page encourages them to create a mind-map of a topic of interest or a subject recently studied. My colleague who teaches sixth class uses this booklet in literacy station teaching for the whole class.
