Term 1 and 2 Long Term (Termly) Dip Plans (1st and 2nd Class)

Here is a bundle of all 11 curricular Term 1 and Term 2 plans for first and second class. These were used during my Dip (I completed my Dip during Term 1 and Term 2 of the 16/17 school year).

These plans follow the NIPT long-term planning template and guidelines. This plan contains aims, strands and strand units, lists all objectives from the each of the curricular areas (and sample activities in some curricular areas i.e. Gaeilge, Maths etc.), week by week breakdown of lessons for the term for each month following themes across the curriculum. The plans also give a comprehensive and in-depth outline of the approaches and methodologies, resources, assessment and differentiation strategies used for each curricular area and includes all subject specific content such as skills and approaches and methodologies.

The Gaeilge and English plans for Term 2 contain the Elements and Learning Outcomes for the Oral Language and Teanga ó Bhéal section of the Primary Language Curriculum.

It was noted during the Dip by the inspector that the plans were to a very high standard and commended the week by week breakdown of lessons within each subject area.

I have also included the template I used for my weekly plan used during my Dip which is based on all the requirements of the NIPT template within one document and a full weekly plan from February which met all requirements of Dip inspector as a guideline for content. The Gaeilge and English plans contain the Elements and Learning Outcomes for the Oral Language and Teanga ó Bhéal section of the New Language Curriculum.

For the completion of my plans I used a range of content both from my own ideas, the ideas of others that I have observed and interacted with and from various educational resources.

Some plans take cognisance of content outlined in the school plans and books used in the school however may not follow the publishers guide/outline as content was chosen to integrate best with theme being studied.
